Secondary School Welcome

Pupils receive expert help to gain the reading and writing skills they need to do well in all subjects. As a result, pupils make good progress

There is much joy in this school. Pupils value their teachers, and the rich and diverse community in which they learn

Teachers take account of individual pupils’ needs in their good lesson planning. They make sure that pupils, even those who arrive at unusual points in the school year, are quickly assimilated and make good progress

Teaching is strong in the sixth form. Teachers are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects. They show great commitment. Students are fulsome in their praise of the impact their teachers have had on their future education

Lessons are characterised by strong and positive relationships between pupils and teachers. Teachers know pupils well. Often teachers target the learning that individual pupils need because they know them so well

In key stages 1 and 2 teachers plan many opportunities for pupils to deepen their knowledge, understanding and skills.

A huge welcome to The Bemrose Secondary Phase

Dear Students, Parent and Carers

I would like to take this opportunity to echo Mr Wilkinson’s welcome to you all on behalf of The Bemrose School. We are a growing school and one that not only puts achievement and progress at the heart of our work but also care and the belief that every child in the school matters.

A child’s journey through the school is not one that I would want to be alone. I want parents to be a big part of your child’s journey, success and achievements in their 5 or 7 years in the secondary phase. As a parent myself there is no better feeling than seeing your child succeed and I would encourage you to come and be a part of your child’s successes at parental events or evenings, school sports fixtures, productions or musical events.

We are a good school with good staff, good facilities and a good atmosphere. We want it to be even better.

I look forward to seeing you and if you have any queries or questions or want to pop into school please contact and we will welcome you in.

Best Regards

Mr A Scott, Head of Secondary
